Besides a strong password, there are more steps you can take to protect your Yield App account from unauthorized access.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
To start securing your account:
On desktop: Use the drop-down menu in the upper right corner to navigate to the Settings section. In the right sidebar, click on “Security”.
On mobile: Click on the three white lines in the top right corner and select “Security” from the dropdown menu.
1) Click enable in the 2FA section.
2) You'll be asked to either scan the QR-code or enter the setup key in your authenticator app.
If you don’t have one, you should download it now (Google Authenticator or Authy are popular choices).
3) Once you set up your authenticator app, enable 2FA with the code from your app and confirm the setup.
Enable Saved Addresses
The Saved Addresses feature is a very effective way to further increase your account's security. When this feature is enabled, withdrawals can only be made to whitelisted addresses that have been added to your address book.
After this feature is turned on, every new withdrawal address must be whitelisted and will be subject to a 24-hour hold period. In order to avoid the grace period, it is essential to fill out your address book thoroughly before activating the feature.
Please note that this feature can only be disabled by contacting our support team via support@yield.app.
1) To activate the Saved Addresses feature, first use the drop-down menu in the upper right corner to navigate to the settings section and click on “Saved addresses” in the right sidebar.
2) Before turning on this feature, you can add a list of trusted addresses to your list of Saved Addresses. If you have turned it on, every new address will be subject to the 24-hour hold period before you can withdraw to it.
3) To effectively use the Saved Addresses feature, you can start adding addresses to your list. Simply click on the “Add new address” button to do this. Enter the asset, network, wallet address, and a label for your address, and confirm for your new entry.
4) Once your list is complete, you can easily activate your Saved Addresses list by clicking on the "Enable address whitelist" button. When the feature is enabled, withdrawals are restricted to addresses that have been saved. This restriction is removed when the feature is turned off.
Other security features
- The “Forgot Password” feature suspends all your withdrawals for 24 hours.
- Changing your password will also log you out of all other active sessions.
- You have the option to enable the automatic logout feature, which will log you out of your account after a certain period of inactivity.
- You can view all recent activity in the Activity log, including date and time, as well as the browser, operating system, and IP address used.
- Additionally, you are able to see all active sessions and close any that are not in use.
- If you have set up 2FA and enter the wrong 2FA code three times in a row, your account access will be suspended for 15 minutes.
In addition, we advise you to take some additional measures to keep your account secure.
